Five Panel Camp Hat
A few months ago I stumbled upon a group of guys who had just bought an old, run-down hat manufacturing company in Brooklyn, and I decided it was the perfect time to take on some type of raw denim hat, a project I have been eager to do since the very beginning of Unwashed Denim. Although I wanted to keep the overall aesthetic of the piece clean and simple to highlight the character and quality of the denim as it develops, I also wanted to add some unique details that would set this piece apart:
-Constructed out of 12.5 oz raw selvedge denim from Kaihara mills in Japan.
-Selvedge stash pocket on the inside of the cap to store a few cards/ cash on the go.
-Light blue chambray on the under visor that contrasts the inky denim nicely.
-Solid brass eyelets and closure.
- Adjustable vegetable tanned leather strap hand beveled and burnished one at a time by me using a beeswax mixture made in my kitchen.
Each piece is entirely handmade from start to finish in NYC.
